Dear Friends,

Just four years ago I began laying the ground work for Partners with Parents (PWP) Educational Consulting Services. During this time my staff and I have worked hard to help ease the way for many children with learning disabilities, so that their time and experiences in school have been more productive. Our goal has always been to improve the educational opportunities for children with learning disabilities here in Israel; students who need more advocacy and intervention in order for them to succeed in regular education.

Along the way we realized that there is a great need for our work and we have received enthusiastic responses from everyone we speak to about what we are doing. We found that we were filling a niche that was not being sufficiently addressed in our educational system and was not being provided for by any organization.

And so, about a year and a half ago, I began the process of creating an amuta, a non profit organization, so that we could begin realizing our dreams; so that we could bring our work to our communities and our schools. I am very proud that we have gotten to this stage where I am able to announce to you, our friends, colleagues, clients and neighbors, that we have established and laid the ground work for this new non profit organization in Israel.

My second reason for writing this letter is to invite you, each in your own way, to become an active part of our organization.

We are taking our work to the community and now I am asking the community to join us on this adventure. Our children and teens, who have been educationally marginalized for no fault of their own, need a community effort in order to make a real difference in their lives.

The next six months is a critical period for our first stage of fundraising and planning, to begin developing programs in the Greater Beit Shemesh and Modiin communities for the 2008 academic year.
I will be volunteering part of my time each and every week to run the organization. I hope you will join me in this effort. Partners with Parents R”A needs help in a variety of ways in order to grow and achieve our goals.

Please consider contributing to our organization in one of these ways:

  Assisting with Marketing and Fundraising
  Working behind the Scenes
  Joining our Community of Professionals
  Making a monetary contribution.

You can email me at gayle@partnerswithparents.org.il or call me at the office at (02) 999-4817 if you would like to volunteer any amount of time, in what ever capacity most suits you.

I would like to thank Esther Wolfson, Sharon Fishman and Hazel Breif, friends and colleagues who have joined PWP over the years and whose professionalism and dedication has contributed to the success of our work.

I would also like to thank Ronnie Allswang, Shifra Friedman, Jerry Leibman, Joyce Levitas, Rena Perlmutter, Naomi Schwartz,
and Esther Wolfson; friends who believed in my vision enough to become members of our Amuta Vaad and helped pave the way.

Best wishes,
